If you are at all interested in sewing-- both newbies and experienced -- you MUST watch this series from BBC. The Great British Sewing Bee is a contest to find the best amateur sewers in England. Unlike American shows of a similar bend, it really IS about the sewing-- NOT about controversy or personal drama! They also have a lot of cool background info on the history of textiles, patterns & needlework. This is the ONLY place on the internet to view it free without giving away your personal info -- and it has both seasons available (there are only 2 so far). Just click on the photo below and select the season you want to see. I promise, you won't be disappointed. ENJOY!!!!

Welcome to Studio Sweethreads-- the blog site for Sweethreads Heirloom® and Sweethreads Design Works® (formally Uncommon Threads & Fashionable Faces). Instead of juggling posts between 2 websites plus Facebook, Twitter & Pintrest. This will be our home base for planning, commentary & photos of the projects featured on all the Sweethreads websites. From gorgeous vintage inspired heirloom infant & children's clothing to one of a kind high-end doll creations for the discriminating collector, all will be featured here!
While I plan our next project, take a few minutes to click on the Sweethreads links in the top right column. There are literally over 1000 photos of beautiful projects made by my over the past 20 years. Oh, in case you were wondering, I'm Sweethreads-- but my friends just call me Marie :)
